NextGen PAC mobilized thousands of young voters to elect progressive candidates

Harrisburg, PA – Despite losses at the top of the ticket, NextGen PAC extends congratulations to incumbents Brendan Boyle, Mary Gay Scanlon, Chrissy Houlahan, Dwight Evans, Madeleine Dean, Chris DeLuzio, and Summer Lee on their elections to Congress, and Patty Kim, Jay Costa, Nikil Saval, Shariff Street, Vince Hughes, Rick Krajewski, Dan Frankel, Melissa Cerrato, Scott Conklin, Paul Takac, Arvind Venkat, and Tim Brennan for State Senate and State House. NextGen PAC endorsed these Pennsylvania leaders based on key issues for young voters earlier this year as an important part of ensuring that Pennsylvania remains just, equitable, and democratic for the future. NextGen PAC applauds their continued commitment to climate action, protecting abortion access and care, and fighting for economic equality for all Pennsylvanians.

“NextGen PAC congratulates Brendan Boyle, Mary Gay Scanlon, Chrissy Houlahan, Dwight Evans, Madeleine Dean, Chris DeLuzio, and Summer Lee and others on their elections to Congress and applaud their continued commitment to young people in Pennsylvania,” NextGen PAC President and Executive Director Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez said. “As the largest, most diverse generation in American history, we are committed to creating a future that reflects us, represents us, and respects us, and Pennsylvania is a critical state in our fight for this future. With these leaders in the House of Representatives, young Pennsylvanians have proven advocates for their rights and leaders who believe in our movement for change.”

NextGen PAC engaged organizers in communities and on campuses across Pennsylvania to ensure young people are ready to turn out for Democrats up and down the ballot this election cycle.
